"Hit Man" becomes new United States Champion
This week, Batista attempted to force WWE Champion John Cena to say "I Quit" just six days before their match at Over The Limit.
In a special commercial-free episode of Monday Night RAW, Cena risked the possibility of injury as he squared off against bitter rival Sheamus in the main event.
The Champ needed to set the Irishman right, so that he wouldn't interfere in his title match against Batista this Sunday.
As the two fierce rivals went at each other, The Animal interrupted the ultimate collision, to not only gain the all important momentum but to also send a message to his opponent.
An angry Animal went on the rampage once again, this time locking Cena in a brutal submission hold and demanded that he say, "I quit."
When Raw went off the air, Cena was still locked in The Animal's clutches but had still refused to utter those two words. Will Cena have no choice but to utter those dreaded words come Sunday Night?
Competition
In the run-up to their match at Over the Limit, Edge and Randy Orton engaged in a Pick Your Poison Match, in which your opponent gets to choose your competition.
In Edge's case, The Viper ripped a page from his past and apparently chose Christian. In the match of the night, The Rated-R Superstar defeated his former partner with a Spear.
But Orton then informed his rival that his competition would actually be The Undertaker! Whilst The Ultimate Opportunist deliberately lost by count-out, Captain Charisma threw him back inside the ring, where The Deadman delivered a devastating chokeslam.
Later in the evening, it was time for Randy Orton to find out who he would face in the Pick Your Poison Match.
In the end, Orton faced the man who defeated him back at Extreme Rules in April, none other than World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger.
Before the match reached it's conclusion, Orton's Over the Limit opponent Edge interfered in the match, prompting a disqualification, before Orton struck "The All-American American" with an RKO. The Rated-R Superstar then floored WWE's Apex Predator with a Spear.
The tension between these two Superstars has now reached breaking point and all looks set to explode when they do battle this Sunday at Over the Limit.
Elsewhere, the United States Title changed hands in a no disqualification, no count-out bout between The Miz and WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart.
Miz appeared to be on the verge of retaining the belt as he attempted to lock the Sharpshooter onto Hart. But The Hart Dynasty came to the aid of their mentor, allowing The "Hit Man" to lock in his signature manoeuvre to become the new United States Champion.
