The Animal forced to quit after brutal battle
At WWE's Over The Limit, Batista ran out of fuel and was forced to utter the dreaded words, "I quit."
Despite Batista's arrogant determination, WWE champion John Cena secured victory a consecutive third and final time in one of the most brutal matches in WWE history.
After brawling throughout the Joe Louis Arena, The Champ ultimately scared The Animal into saying those infamous words, after threatening an Attitude Adjustment from atop of a car parked on the stage.
Despite quitting, Cena went through with his threat and delivered an Attitude Adjustment of career-threatening proportions, sending Batista crashing through the stage.
There was no time for Cena to celebrate this terrific achievement however as Irishman Sheamus surprised The Champ with a big boot to the face.
As the show went off the air, Sheamus stood over his floored rival, to signal his intent on becoming the new No.1 contender to Cena's WWE title.
Also at Over the Limit, Big Show triumphed over world heavyweight champion Jack Swagger by disqualification.
Before both men could resolve their feud, a smart Swagger suddenly got himself disqualified, smashing Big Show over the head with the championship belt.
Though Swagger continued his assault with a steel chair after the match, the angry World's Largest Athlete quickly turned the tables, chokeslamming Swagger onto the chair before knocking him out cold with a devastating right hand.
Rey Mysterio defeated Straight Edge leader CM Punk and then proceeded to shave his head at Over the Limit.
Helpless
After Mysterio claimed victory over Punk in their highly-competitive Straight Edge Society Pledge vs. Hair Match, Punk's minions tried to protect their leader from getting what was coming to him.
In a surprise turn of events, The Big Red Machine Kane came to the ring to help Mysterio fend off the Straight Edge Society.
And after doing so, Mysterio handcuffed both of Punk's arms to the ropes and delivered his second hard-hitting 619 of the night. With Punk helpless, Rey delivered the much anticipated head shaving.
Randy Orton and Edge may be involved in one of the fiercest rivalries to date but that rivalry may be set to step up one yet another gear after their match ended in double count-out.
After minutes of devastating in-ring action, the brawl spilled to the arena floor where Orton looked to be in serious pain from a separated right shoulder.
No one senses an opportunity quite like The Rated-R Superstar, and in doing so, went for a Spear on the outside, but ultimately missed his target and went head first into the barricade.
The impact of which was crushing for both competitors who were out for the count. With no clear winner at Over The Limit, will the rivalry between these men rage on? Or will The Viper's injury put him out of action?
Elsewhere, The Dreadlock Dynamo Kofi Kingston officially defeated Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Championship. The Scotsman's loss was then capped off by a shocking attack by a returning Matt Hardy.
