Rey has too much Swagger for Jack on SmackDown

Despite the overwhelming pain of his ankle injury, Rey Mysterio took on Jack Swagger in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match to determine who would face new World Heavyweight Champion Kane at SummerSlam. When Swagger refused to release his ankle lock on The Master of the 619 in the first part of their epic showdown, the referee disqualified him, awarding the first fall to the masked Superstar. But, the damage had clearly been done. Shortly after the second part of the match began, Mysterio attempted the 619. However, "The All-American American" caught his opponent at the last second and made him tap-out to his second ankle lock of the night. After Swagger punished Rey in the third part of the match, he attempted to end things with a devastating Gutwrench Powerbomb.

Chokeslam

The Ultimate Underdog, however, escaped the manoeuvre, using his rival's weight against him to score the third and final pinfall and win an opportunity to face Kane at next month's SummerSlam event. Post-match, Swagger attempted to punish Mysterio with yet a further ankle lock, but Kane emerged to deliver an almighty chokeslam which sent Swagger crashing to the canvas. Kane then raised Mysterio's hand and appeared to make his exit. However, when he suddenly returned to send a message to his new Number one contender, Mysterio turned the tables on him, hitting the 619 on the daunting World Champion.
WWE SmackDown returns next Friday Night at 10pm on Sky Sports HD2.
