WWE Superstars went 'Air Bourne' this week with a thrilling victory for high-flying supremo Evan Bourne over Zack Ryder.
After his recent feud with six-time World Champion Chris Jericho, Bourne has again been relegated from the main event status but lit up Superstars, proving his enormous potential.
The 'Long Island Iced Z', Ryder, began the match strongly, using his considerable size advantage to good effect and gaining a series of near pinfalls.
Bourne's high-risk style almost got him into deep trouble when he collided with the barricade instead of Ryder after leaping from the top rope.
Ryder was astonished soon after not to pick up the three count after a modified Powerbomb seemingly had Bourne beaten.
However after narrowly avoiding defeat, Bourne turned the tables and flipped Ryder off the top rope, into the prime position for Air Bourne, the Shooting Star Press, and claim the victory in a match which could have easily graced Monday Night RAW.
SummerSlam place
The pocket-sized dynamo will now be looking for a place at SummerSlam, possibly as a member of John Cena's Team RAW, who have two empty spots in their seven-man elimination-tag-team match against the Nexus after Edge and Jericho's departure from the team last week.
Other superstars looking to make a big impression are Curt Hawkins and Vance Archer, who vowed to grab Unified Tag Team gold off the Hart Dynasty after defeating the Dudebusters.
In what has now become recognised as the end for their opponents, Archer isolated one half of the Dudebusters, Trent Barreta, and planted him with the Gate Crasher Inverted DDT.
Hawkins was then bang on target with a Heat Seeking Elbow to ensure another victory for this team riding a hot streak on SmackDown recently.
Afterwards Hawkins took to the mike and issued a clear message to the Hart Dynasty: "Hawkins and Archer want gold, and if you won't come to us, we're going to find you."
Self professed Co-Women's Champion Layla picked up victory over the number one contender for the title, Tiffany.
With Michelle McCool at ringside, Tiffany was like a lamb to the slaughter and the devious duo sneakily teamed up to destroy the former ECW General Manager.
Layla connected with the Layout for the three count, but this maybe the calm before the storm as SmackDown GM Teddy Long has insisted that the pair have to decide who the sole owner of the Women's Championship is by tonight's episode of SmackDown.
Don't miss Monday Night RAW, the go-home edition of the show before the biggest event of the summer, SummerSlam, live this Monday Night at 2am on SKY SPORTS HD/3.
