Team WWE overcame The Nexus on SummerSlam on a night which saw Sheamus and Kane escape with their titles in tact.
Shemus and Kane retains titles on dramatic night
Heading into the night, Team WWE's seventh member remained a mystery. The Miz was convinced it was he who would be assisting, but appeared shocked and confused when Cena revealed that the seventh man was actually former NXT Rookie Daniel Bryan.
Bryan joined Team WWE as their seventh man, and more than helped dismantle The Nexus in an unforgettable 7-on-7 Elimination Tag Team Match which went a long way to saving Monday Night Raw.
The thrilling match reached it's conclusion when Cena applied the STF on Nexus leader Wade Barrett, a move which saw the Englishman tapping out within seconds of it being applied.
The Celtic Warrior Sheamus retained his beloved WWE Championship against Randy Orton after The Irishman attacked the match official and got himself intentionally disqualified.
However, Sheamus could not escape an angry Viper's clutches after the match when he found himself on the receiving end of a venomous RKO onto the announce table.
Ambush
Before a sold-out crowd inside The Staples Center, World Heavyweight Champion Kane triumphed over The Ultimate Underdog Rey Mysterio.
But when The Big Red Monster opened the casket to stuff Mysterio inside, he discovered The Undertaker waiting for him!
It was then The Deadman attempted to turn his wrath on Kane and deliver a chokeslam of vengeance, but the World Champion countered, tombstoning his brother in the middle of the ring.
Dolph Ziggler put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against ex-champion Kofi Kingston in the nights opening bout. But due to an unexpected ambush by The Nexus, the Intercontinental Championship Match at SummerSlam ended in a no contest.
In a 3-on-1 Handicap Match, The Big Show came out on top, by chokeslamming Joseph Mercury onto a prone Luke Gallows. The dismal performance from his Straight Edge followers led to leader CM Punk walking out of The Staples Center in disgust.
And in Divas action, after returning from a career threatening leg injury that put her on the sidelines for eight months, Melina defeated Divas Champion Alicia Fox to reclaim the title she was forced to vacate almost a year ago.
