Double disqualification in Tag Team match
On the 900th edition of Monday Night Raw, Nexus leader Wade Barrett pinned Randy Orton to secure a morale boosting victory for The Nexus.
This week, the group faced WWE Champion Sheamus, John Cena, Edge, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton in a 5-on-5 Tag Team Elimination Match.
And so to the top of the show, and in a turn of events, Jericho and Edge opted to leave their team mates high and dry just minutes after the bell sounded. At an unexpected disadvantage, The Celtic Warrior finally relented and was pinned by Heath Slater.
Then, Cena found himself in trouble against the overwhelming odds and eventually lost out to the high-flying 450° Splash of Justin Gabriel.
Barrett's fortuitous evening concluded, though, when Orton faced a 3-on-1 scenario. Although Orton managed to eliminate Gabriel and Tarver with an RKO, he was unable to overcome The Englishman's offence in a gutting defeat.
To kick off Raw, the anonymous General Manager e-mailed in, with a view to arranging a match for later in the evening. The match in question hadn't been seen on Raw in 13 years, The Deadman against The Excellence of Execution!
As The Undertaker prepared for his battle against Bret Hart, Barrett complained that he deserved the bout. When he tried to prove himself, however, The Deadman easily dispensed of him.
Darkened
Then, the arena suddenly darkened. When light was restored, Kane stood where The "Hit Man" had been just seconds earlier. The two brothers of destruction circled one another before The Phenom swiftly latched onto Kane's neck.
And just as quickly, the arena lights dimmed yet again. When they brightened this time, The World Champion had vanished. The Nexus, however, would take his place.
Without the services of Skip Sheffield, who suffered a severe ankle injury just seven days ago, The Nexus crept toward the ring and surrounded The Deadman. The five proceeded to attack their prey to no avail when the lights cut off and on for a third time.
While Kane stood at the top of the ramp, The Nexus had somehow taken control. Barrett slammed Undertaker to the canvas just before Justin Gabriel nailed the defenceless Deadman with a crushing 450° Splash.
With the season two finale of NXT looming, the three remaining Rookies teamed up with WWE Pros and Daniel Bryan in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.
The match also featured United States Champion The Miz and Alex Riley against Daniel Bryan and Kaval, plus Kofi Kingston and Michael McGillicutty.
Money
In the end, it was Mr. Money in the Bank who pinned Kaval, to secure the win for his team. After the match, Daniel Bryan booted Riley onto the arena floor, prompting Miz to bash his rival over the head with his Money in the Bank briefcase.
Fan favourites R-Truth and John Morrison squared off against Drew McIntyre and "Dashing" Cody Rhodes to determine the Number One contenders to the new WWE Tag Team Championships.
But, both teams' overzealous approach resulted in a double disqualification, meaning that the Number One contenders position still remains vacant.
