After defeating John Cena on RAW, The Miz will now captain Team RAW at WWE Bragging Rights.
With WWE's annual SmackDown vs. RAW event less than two weeks away, the time had come for the RAW roster to determine which Superstars would carry the flagship brand into battle and just who would lead that charge - The Miz or John Cena?
Monday Night RAW kicked off with John Cena asking for fan's forgiveness in regards to his forced allegiance to The Nexus. During Cena's address, however, The Miz interrupted to make an announcement of his own.
Mr. Money in the Bank informed Cena that he had named himself captain of Team RAW at WWE Bragging Rights and requested that the powerhouse be part of the squad.
Dazzling
But in a turn of events, RAW's anonymous General Manager arranged a match between The Miz and Cena to establish who in-fact the captain of Team RAW would be.
The mystery GM also informed the RAW Superstars that he had arranged a series of matches for later in the show to determine who would be part of Team RAW at Bragging Rights.
R-Truth was the first Superstar to qualify for Team RAW, defeating Ted DiBiase, who appeared distracted when Goldust unexpectedly arrived on the scene with both the Million Dollar Title and NXT Rookie Diva Aksana.
The Guru of Greatness John Morrison defeated Tyson Kidd in what was originally set to be a Triple Threat Match, if it were not for David Hart Smith failing to show up! As a result, Morrison only had to overcome Kidd, which he did in style with a dazzling Exploder suplex manoeuvre to qualify for Team RAW.
With his friend, Vladimir Kozlov looking on, Santino Marella became the third man to join Team RAW after he pinned Zack Ryder following an execution of his Cobra finisher.
After being destroyed by Sheamus last week, United States Champion Daniel Bryan came out fighting in their non-title rematch.
From the moment the bell sounded, Bryan went on the rampage. However, the US Champion ultimately proved unable to match the power and determination of The Celtic Warrior, who persevered and succeeded with the aid of a devastating Brogue kick to capture the fourth slot on Team RAW.
After trading Edge to SmackDown last week, Monday Night RAW learned of it's latest acquisition: former leader of the Straight Edge Society, CM Punk.
Gripping
The straight-edge Superstar faced Evan Bourne in a Team RAW qualifying match during which he defeated his opponent with the GTS. After the match, however, Punk threw his high-flying opponent into the ringside barricades and then applied the anaconda vice to send a clear message to everyone in the RAW locker room.
In the main event, Cena faced The Miz to determine which of the two would be the sixth and captaining member of Team RAW. During the contest, season two NXT Rookies Husky Harris and Michael McGillicutty interfered, costing Cena another crucial victory just as they had done previously at Hell in a Cell.
After the bout, RAW's anonymous General Manager took control of the situation and informed the WWE fans that next week, Harris and McGillicutty must face off against Cena and his tag team partner - WWE Champion Randy Orton.
Then, in a thrilling climax to the show, Wade Barrett berated Cena and provoked the reluctant Nexus member to attack him in a gripping confrontation. Barrett then informed Cena that should Harris and McGillicutty win, they will be allowed to join The Nexus.
WWE RAW returns next Monday Night exclusively live at 2am on Sky Sports 3.
