Masters picked up a brisk submission victory thanks to Masterlock

Yoshi Tatsu sealed a surprising win over Tyson Kidd in an excellent main event on the latest edition of WWE Superstars. The Japanese superstar may not have been picking up much TV time on Monday Night RAW recently but offered a timely reminder of his pedigree by putting on an impressive show with Kidd, who has been feuding with Daniel Bryan over recent times. The former WWE Tag Team Champion worked the left ankle of his Asian counterpart to good effect early on, giving him a distinct advantage, grounding Tatsu's high flying all action style. Tatsu though attempted to hit a Spinning Heel Kick from the turnbuckle but Kidd avoided the manoeuvre and cockily waltzed over to Tatsu lay prone on the floor. Kidd began going through the routine to apply the most successful submission move in WWE history, the Bret Hart patented Sharpshoote, but Tatsu was wise enough to roll him up and got the three count much to the disbelief of Kidd after the bell. The Japanese star won the pre Wrestlemania 26 Battle Royale in Atlanta last year but he has certainly suffered while other superstars have been pushed in front of him, such as Kidd. The lack of mike skills is certainly harming him but if he can continue to put on matches of this high quality it may only be a matter of time before he begins to gain the recognition his in-ring skills are deserving of.

Tag-team success

Zack Ryder also picked up a pinfall victory to give himself and Primo a tag team victory over David Hart Smith and Darren Young. Ryder delivered the Rough Ryder to Young to get the win, his first victory after quite a run of winless matches. Smith meanwhile will be smarting at seeing his former tag team partner Kidd being pushed into a potential United States Championship feud with Daniel Bryan after his heel turn, while he may be left lingering in the lower mid-card with matches on Superstars. From SmackDown, Chris Masters picked up a brisk submission victory over Curt Hawkins thanks to the Masterlock. JTG also picked up his first victory in a while by defeating the 'Mexican Warrior' Chavo Guerrero. Guerrero's time with the company may be coming to and end but he can still put together a decent contest as he proved on tonight's programme. However his continued omission from time on SmackDown only seem to be sending his career one way, heading for the dreaded 'future endeavours' list for released superstars. JTG got the win thanks to Da Shout Out. Don't miss the go home edition of Monday Night RAW before the 2011 Royal Rumble, this Monday Night at 2am on SKY SPORTS HD/3.
