Rivals set to meet again in the Superleague play-offs

Surrey Storm beat an unusually poor TeamBath 60-47 to move level on points with the side they will face in the Superleague play-offs. Storm, who play rivals Hertfordshire Mavericks in the final round of the regular season, led by 14 at half-time and never looked back. And head coach Mary Beardwood knows the importance of the win in the run-up to the Mavericks game and the play-offs against their traditionally strong rivals. Beardwood said: "Obviously I'm delighted with the game today especially to get a first win over one of the top four this season. "It's good to get confidence into the side going to Mavericks on Sunday and the play-offs against Bath."

Uncoordinated

The win, which included Rachel Dunn slotting home 53 shots from her 64 attempts, highlighted an uncoordinated Bath side who struggled to reach their usual high standards. And convincing performances from captain Tamsin Greenway and goal defence Katy Holland ensured Geva Mentor and Sonia Mkoloma may not be needed for the final game. Ahead of their final game against Glasgow Wildcats, TeamBath head coach Jess Garland said: "It was a disappointing first half as we were operating well under capacity and credit to Surrey Storm for exposing us. "It was encouraging to see a response from TeamBath winning the third quarter and the second half overall."
