Riley bombs in Superstars

Alex Riley dropped an ¿A-Bomb¿ on Jack Swagger on this week¿s WWE Superstars.

Alex Riley dropped an 'A-Bomb' on Jack Swagger on this week's WWE Superstars. Despite receiving a heavy push recently with some dominating wins over his former mentor The Miz; Riley had to be content with a spot on the premier mid-card show this week. The two, however, put on an impressive ten minute wrestling display as Swagger dictated the tempo for the first seven minutes, picking up a near fall following his corner Splash and an ankle lock submission attempt. Riley though debuted his new 'A-Bomb' a double forearm smash to the downed Swagger, complete with theatrics which entails him feigning throwing up a grenade and dropping it on his opponent. He ended the contest with his Impaler DDT, straight from the moveset of former WWE Superstar Edge. The commentary team described Riley's appearance on the show as a one time deal, and with Dolph Ziggler currently without a serious feud for the United States Championship; we could soon see the two enter into a programme heading into SummerSlam. The WWE Tag Team Champions, David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty ended a run of defeats with victory over Chris Masters and Santino Marella. Marella introduced a gimmick sock to the match, in the style of hardcore legend Mankind's Mr Socko, to aid with his Cobra finishing move. This could not seal the win for Santino and his latest in a series of tag team partners as McGillicutty downed Masters with his Swinging Neckbreaker. Heath Slater also picked up his first competitive singles win since the break-up of the Corre by beating Trent Barretta. A Reverse DDT was enough to secure the pinfall victory for the "One Man Southern Rock Band". Triple H, the new 'Chief Operating Officer' of the WWE makes a rare appearance tonight on Friday Night SmackDown to discuss the WWE Championship situation. You can catch it at 10pm on SKY SPORTS HD/2.
