Last-gasp effort lifys New York Knicks
The New York Knicks left it late to record a fifth straight victory as Jeremy Lin hit a free throw with 4.9 seconds remaining in the 100-98 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Steve Novak had 15 points which included the tying three-pointer with 36 seconds remaining before Lin drew a foul to get to the line from where he sealed the win with the last of his 20 points, to which he added eight assists and six rebounds.
The Wolves, who missed two chances to win it in the final five seconds, had Kevin Love scoring 32 points and adding 21 rebounds.
The San Antonio Spurs made it seven in a row with a 103-89 defeat of the of the New Jersey Nets as Gary Neal scored 18 points and Tim Duncan recorded his ninth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Tony Parker added 12 points and DeJuan Blair finished with 11, while Daniel Green and Thiago Splitter each had 10 for the Spurs.
The Nets, who made it six defeats in a row, had Deron Williams leading the way with 27 points.
76ers sparkle
Six Philadelphia 76ers players reached double figures with Jrue Holiday leading the way with 20 in the 99-84 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
