Swiss resort to host World Championships

The Swiss resort of St Moritz will host the 2017 World Championships, the International Ski Federation has announced. St Moritz was bidding for the championships against Are in Sweden and the Italian resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo, which withdrew shortly before the ballot. The decision was made by the FIS council in a vote at the International Ski Congress in Kangwonland, South Korea. The exclusive resort last hosted the world championships in 2003.
