Silva rolls back the years with victory in Japan
Wanderlei Silva treated his Japanese fans to another highlight reel knockout by finishing Brian Stann UFC on Fuel TV 8. Tokyo's Saitama Super Arena has been the location for most of Silva's legendary victories and on Saturday night, with his career in question, he rolled back the years to defeat Stann in the second round of their Fight of the Night brawl. The tone was set after 30 seconds when the first wild exchange produced blood from Stann's nose. Unrelenting, the American staggered the "Axe Murderer" shortly after. Buoyed by the Japanese fans, Silva beckoned the former marine to throw caution to the wind and both fighters landed several significant shots before the round was out. A second, equally thrilling round didn't reach its conclusion as Silva landed a straight right and a left hook to separate Stann from his senses.Knockout
In the co-main event, veteran Mark Hunt earned Knockout of the Night for breaking Stefan Struve's jaw in the third round. Struve was a heavy favourite heading into the battle, but he will fall out of contention for a UFC Heavyweight title shot as a result. Hector Lombard's bid to justify his hype saw him suffer a second defeat in three UFC fights as he lost a split-decision to Yushin Okami. Elsewhere, Diego Sanchez took home a split decision over Takanori Gomi, while Rani Yanha and Dong Hyun Kim earned unanimous decision victories over Mizuto Hirota and Siyar Bahadurzada respectively.See all of Sky Bet's UFC betting markets here
