Britain’s Hollie Arnold broke the world record as she retained her women's F46 javelin title at the World Para Athletics Championships at the London Stadium.

Arnold, who finished fifth at London 2012, surpassed her own world record of 43.01 - set in taking gold in Rio - to win her third consecutive world title.

Sophie Hahn won the battle of the Rio Paralympic gold medallists as she took gold in the T38 200m.

The Paralympic 100m champion set a new world record time of 26.11 as she finished ahead of Germany's Lindy Ave. Cox, the 400m champion in Rio, came home third.

Hahn said: "It feels phenomenal. I never imagined I'd get the world record."

Earlier in the day, Stef Reid claimed gold in the T44 long jump and fellow Brit Sammy Kinghorn claimed her first world title, breaking the world record in the T53 200m.

The 21-year-old Scot said: "I didn't think it would come this early in my career. I've been working so hard. I'm going to have to say it a few times in my head before I can say it out loud. It's amazing."
