World number one beats Bingham in Brazil

Mark Selby came from behind to beat Stuart Bingham and maintain his winning streak in the first round of the Brazil Masters in Santa Catarina. Selby, who has won the Paul Hunter Classic and the Shanghai Open in recent weeks, trailed 2-0 before pulling back and forcing a final frame decider. Breaks of 31 and 41 proved enough for the world number one to secure a 4-3 victory and earn a place in the second round. In other round one matches, former world champion Peter Ebdon beat Stephen Lee 4-1, but Jamie Cope suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Brazil's Igor Figueiredo. Figueiredo won the first two frames and although Cope got back into the contest, his 33-year-old opponent held on for the win. In the evening's final game, Scotland's former world champion Graeme Dott beat Mark Davis 4-1.
