O'Sullivan regrets use of words over PTC spat

Ronnie O'Sullivan has apologised for comments he made regarding participation in Players Tour Championship events. The former world champion has admitted he was wrong to claim he was being 'raped' by having to compete in the low-profile events in order to battle for ranking points. "I feel like I'm being raped when I'm playing in them," the frustrated 35-year-old said earlier this month. However, the 'Rocket' says he used the wrong word in voicing his discontent. "I'm really sorry if I offended anyone," he said in a statement. "I wanted to explain how I felt but I used the wrong word. I didn't realise it would cause any offence. I will be happy to personally apologise to anyone who is offended."
