John Higgins hit a 147 and came from 7-2 down to beat Judd Trump in a deciding frame in the Shanghai Masters final.

The Scot nailed a maximum in the sixth frame before fighting back in the second session to claim a 10-9 success.

Trump dominated the early stages and was on course for a maximum of his own in the opening frame only to miss the 15th red.

The Bristol potter reeled off the first five frames before Higgins got on the board in some style.

Perfection

But after compiling the sixth 147 of his career, Trump won two of the next three frames to re-establish his five-frame lead.

Higgins then got off to a flyer in the evening session as runs of 89 and 74 reduced the arrears, and he edged an erratic 12th before levelling the match with breaks of 76 and 71.

The four-time world champion took the 15th on the black to lead for the first time, but Trump regrouped to knock in a composed 105 in the next.

Higgins edged back in front with a break of 64 only to go in-off the final pink in frame 18 and Trump pounced to force a decider.

But Trump lost position when on 35, and Higgins held his nerve to knock in a match-winning break of 61 to seal the 25th ranking title of his career.
