The Australian was taken all the way in his quarter-final match-up against Cao Yupeng on Friday, eventually running out a 5-4 victor.

Robertson had no such worries in his semi-final, racing into a 4-0 advantage on the back of four half-century breaks.

Triumph

Although Milkins pulled a couple of frames back, Robertson was not to be denied and went on to seal his triumph with a break of 92 in frame eight.

The victory also sees Robertson gain revenge for his shock 10-8 defeat at the hands of Englishman Milkins in the first round of this year's Betfair World Championship.

Robertson will now face John Higgins who enjoyed an easier quarter-final success against Joe Perry, and his semi win was equally straightforward as he wrapped up a 6-2 victory over Matthew Stevens.

The Scot, who lifted the Bulgarian Open earlier this month, had breaks of 61, 66 and two of 57 to help open up a dominant 5-0 lead in the best-of-11 contest.

Welshman Stevens briefly threatened a comeback by taking the next two frames, but Higgins extinguished any hopes once and for all in the eighth with a century break.
