Ali Carter wins first snooker title since beating cancer

Ali Carter secured his first snooker title since overcoming lung cancer to win the Paul Hunter Classic on Sunday.
The Essex cueman overcame Shaun Murphy 4-3 at the European Tour event in the German city of Furth to earn the £18,000 top prize.
The two-time World Championship runner-up was pegged back from 3-1 ahead by Murphy but clinched the trophy with a break of 95 in the seventh frame.
The tournament is named after Paul Hunter, who died after a cancer battle in 2006.
Carter was diagnosed with lung cancer in May 2014 and underwent chemotherapy to beat the disease, a year after also having surgery to overcome testicular cancer.
He won the invitational General Cup in Hong Kong last October before being given the lung cancer all-clear in December.
