UFC 186: Michael Bisping and 'Rampage' Jackson returned to winning ways

Last Updated: 26/04/15 10:56am

Michael Bisping overcame early adversity to win a unanimous decision against CB Dollaway at UFC 186 on Saturday night.

The Lancashire middleweight was floored by a left hook in a back-and-forth opening round but regained his composure to ride out the win on all three judges' scorecards in Montreal, Canada.

Bisping quickly established himself as the quicker fighter but Dollaway nearly closed the show early, although Bisping did enough to win the first round by returning to his feet and inflicting damage as the bell rang.

Dollaway landed two brief take-downs throughout the bout but Bisping's ability to maintain a high work-rate for 15 minutes was the difference. The 36-year-old had Dollaway in trouble with a right hand as the final bell went.

It means Bisping has exchanged wins and losses in his last nine fights.

Elsewhere, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson won on his UFC return with a unanimous decision against Fabio Maldonado.

The former light-heavyweight champion, not seen in the Octagon for two years, mixed up punches with knees and kicks to outlast the Brazilian.

Demetrious 'Mighty Mouse' Johnson secured the latest finish in UFC history by forcing Kyoji Horiguchi to tap out with one second remaining in a 25-minute duel.

The flyweight champion's sixth title defence was another dominant display for one of the sport's best pound-for-pound fighters, but Johnson had to wait until 24:59 of the fifth round before an armbar forced his submission.
