Roman Reigns won the United States Title for the first time in his career at a WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view at which only one belt changed hands.

Reigns, a former three-time world champion and one-time tag team champion, defeated Bulgarian Superstar Rusev in Indianapolis on Sunday night with a second successful spear.

The Big Dog looked set to claim the title when he nailed The Super Athlete with an initial spear, only to see his opponent's wife, Lana, pull the referee out of the ring while he counted the pin.

Lana was subsequently sent to the back by the official and Reigns pounced in her absence, powering out of an Accolade to pinch the strap Rusev had held since beating Kalisto at Extreme Rules in May.

The New Day, meanwhile, ensured their reign with the Raw Tag Titles would stretch into at least a 400th day as they knocked off former IWGP Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Big E and Kofi Kingston competed for the popular faction but Xavier Woods played a crucial role, smacking Anderson with his trombone to allow Big E and Kingston to hit the Midnight Hour.

Charlotte successfully defended the Raw Women's Title in a Triple Threat Match against Bayley and Sasha Banks, the champion booting Bayley into Banks en route to her victory.

Elsewhere, TJ Perkins retained the Cruiserweight Championship in his bout against the veteran Brian Kendrick, the Fil-Am Flash eventually prevailing with a kneebar following a high-octane affair.

Kendrick refused to shake Perkins' hand before the match but did so afterwards - until he blindsided the champion with a head-butt to the face.

Cesaro and Sheamus' best-of-seven series decider was a superb all-out brawl, but no winner was determined with the match called off by the referee as the competitors picked up injuries.

The Swiss unleashed several European uppercuts, a Neutralizer and a 619, a move made famous by Rey Mysterio, while the Dubliner hit a Brogue Kick, a Celtic Cross and a trio of Irish Curses.

However, when the action spilled to the outside and Cesaro and Sheamus struggled to stand, the match was deemed a no contest, despite both men remaining eager to carry on.

Plus, Chris Jericho defeated Sami Zayn with a Codebreaker, before helping close pal Kevin Owens fend off Seth Rollins' in the Canadian's first defence of the WWE Universal Title.
