Kurt Angle made a victorious return to a WWE ring after more than 11 years in a chaotic five-on-three match at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Kane was also included in the contest as he lined up alongside The Miz, Braun Strowman and Sheamus & Cesaro in a TLC main event at the pay-per-view in Minneapolis.

Raw general manager Angle donned the trademark black gear as he stood in for Roman Reigns in The Shield team which also included Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

And the match did not disappoint, with plenty of action featuring all three of the fully legal weapons and ending when The Shield delivered a brutal Shield Bomb on The Miz.

Angle almost did not complete the contest, having been carried to the back after being powerslammed through a table by the Monster Among Men.

Midway through the match, Strowman switched sides after becoming embroiled in an argument which ended with the Big Red Machine chokeslamming him through part of the stage.

Strowman was then thrown into the back of a garbage truck, which drove away, and the odds were evened further when Angle returned to the action.

He helped secure victory by hitting Miz with an Angle slam, before Rollins gave him his King's Landing and Ambrose delivered a Dirty Deeds and all three joined forces for the Shield Bomb which ended the match.

In the only title change of the event, Enzo Amore regained the Cruiserweight title from Kalisto in controversial circumstances.

Kalisto dominated the match with his trademark high-flying offense but Amore floored the Mexican superstar with a thumb to the eye and then flattened him with the Jawdonzo before grabbing a three-count.

Alexa Bliss retained the Raw Women's Championship after beating Mickie James with a DDT.

The veteran James appeared to be on top after weathering a sustained attack on her shoulder but Bliss capitalised on a lapse in concentration to hit her trademark finisher and collect the victory.

A visibly emotional James gave an in-ring interview after the match in which she vowed to once again compete for what would be her seventh world title.

Asuka won her first main roster match, picking up a submission victory over Emma in the event's opener.

Emma held her own for long periods of the contest but was ultimately forced to tap out to the Asuka Lock.

AJ Styles was also called up to compete at the event as a replacement for Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor.

As scheduled, Balor was once again the Demon King, and won with a dropkick before hitting his Coup de Gras off the top turnbuckle.

An all-action cruiserweight tag match saw Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann defeat Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick after Alexander hit an exquisite Lumbar Check on Kendrick.

There was a bonus match added to the schedule when Jason Jordan squared off against Elias after twice interrupting his song by pelting him with vegetables.

The match ended in controversial circumstances with Elias claiming he kicked out before the count of three and so it appears likely there will be a rematch between the two.
