Kevin Owens got the better of Randy Orton in a no-disqualification match on SmackDown Live

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn's reign over the SmackDown roster continued at the expense of Randy Orton.

Owens' scheduled contest against Orton was altered slightly by Shane McMahon, who changed it to a no-disqualification match and banned Zayn from ringside.

But he made an appearance anyway - although, not technically at ringside - when he attacked Orton with a chair on the stage and entrance area of the SmackDown set.

That softened the Legend Killer up enough for Owens to hit him with a textbook-perfect frogsplash for another victory after a match which saw a plethora of weapon shots and brutal moves.

Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan made a huge statement on SmackDown after beating Charlotte Flair, Natalya & Naomi

The Riott Squad win their first match

Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan were back in town, this time for a six-woman tag match against Natalya, Naomi and women's champion Charlotte.

The odds were in the established team's favour but that all changed when Natalya left the match and Naomi was left requiring medical treatment after being attacked with the steel steps outside of the ring.

Charlotte then succumbed to a Riott kick to give the new group - complete with a new name - a victory in their debut match.

Despite being attacked by Jinder Mahal and the Singh Brothers during his entrance, WWE Champion AJ Styles overcame the odds to defeat Samir and Sunil in a handicap match

Styles sees off the Singhs

AJ Styles made short work of both Singh brothers, defeating the duo in a two-on-one handicap match in less than five minutes.

Jinder Mahal had attacked the WWE champion prior to the match but he recovered from that and delivered a brutal Styles Clash on Samir onto Sunil for the victory.

Clearly upset with the performance of his acolytes, Mahal attacked the Singh brothers after the match, giving them both a Khallas for good measure.

Mojo Rawley savagely attacked Zack Ryder from behind after their loss to the Bludgeon Brothers

The Hype Bros are brothers no more

Following another quick defeat to the Bludgeon Brothers, Zack Ryder took to the microphone to state "the landscape has changed, and we have to change."

But he probably didn't have what happened next in mind - a brutal attack from behind by his partner Mojo Rawley, who delcared: "The Hype Bros are dead", emphasising each word with a stiff forearm shot.
