With the Monday Night War in full swing, the D-Generation X faction took things up a notch in one of the most famous moments in Raw history.

D-Generation X, led by Triple H, commandeered a tank and headed over to the Scope in Norfolk, Virginia, where the then-WWF's fierce television ratings rivals, World Championship Wrestling, were due to film an April 1998 episode of Nitro.

The incident was a huge one in the late-1990s 'battle' between the two companies, and had wider implications for the wrestling business as a whole.

Until that period, it had become standard practice to never acknowledge the competition, but the game changed during that Attitude Era, with both companies regularly taking metaphorical shots at one another.

With the booking style of the Attitude Era continuing to challenge - and, indeed, shatter - those expectations it was perhaps completely logical that one company's top faction should turn up unannounced at the doorstep of the other.

But even today, the incident remains pretty shocking, and it is unlikely - in these very different times both in terms of tone and the competitive landscape - that the like will never be seen again.
