Luke Gallows has praised WWE for "reaching out" to Jeff Jarrett and putting him in the Hall of Fame.

The nomination of Jarrett into the 2018 class has been seen as a controversial one: in 1996 he left the then-WWF for World Championship Wrestling after a contract dispute and the company did not retain him after they bought WCW five years later.

Jarrett also set up several companies in a bid to challenge the WWE's dominance of the wrestling industry, and it was with several of these companies that he worked alongside Gallows.

The Raw superstar, who is currently teaming with Karl Anderson, believes Jarrett fully deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame because of his long career in the business and his legacy of developing emerging talent.

"I think it's testament to the WWE, after the history between the two, to reach out to Jeff and induct him," Gallows told Sky Sports.

"But I think Jeff is very deserving. When you look at his career and the championships that he captured, and the decades he's spent in the business I think he's very deserving of a Hall of Fame spot.

"He's also cultivated lots of new stars with the other promotions he's been involved with, and that's as a promoter and as an in-ring performer.

"He's really carved out his history in the business and I'll be happy to see him get inducted in April."
