The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a three-year extension with point guard Spencer Dinwiddie.
The deal is worth $34.3m, according to Spotrac, with the third season being a player option.
The contract begins with next season with reported yearly salaries of $10.6m, $11.4m and $12.3m. Dinwiddie is making $1.65m this season.
Dinwiddie wrote the following on his Instagram page: "The journey is just beginning. I'm thankful that @brooklynnets believe in me enough to give me a home. #AudienceOfOne".
The 25-year-old has emerged as a key player for the Nets and is averaging 16.9 points and 4.9 assists in 29 games (three starts) this season.
The contract agreement comes one day after Dinwiddie scored a career-best 39 points in Wednesday's 127-124 road win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
"My job here is to drive the ball," Dinwiddie told the media after the contest. "Obviously, when I get a big man on me, I just try to do my job really. Traditionally I'm faster than most big men, so it becomes a foot race."
Dinwiddie has career averages of 10.0 points and 4.6 assists in 214 games (80 starts) with the Detroit Pistons (two seasons) and Nets (three seasons).
