Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball will be sidelined four to six weeks with a sprained left ankle.

The severity of the Grade 3 sprain was detected through an MRI exam.

Ball was injured during Saturday night's 138-134 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets. He left the arena in a wheelchair, and X-rays taken at a Houston hospital were negative, according to the team.

The incident occurred as Ball began a drive against Rockets forward James Ennis during the third quarter. Ball fell to the floor in heavy pain and was later carried to the locker room by teammates Michael Beasley and Lance Stephenson.

Ball had eight points and 11 assists in 22 minutes when he exited. The second-year pro is averaging 9.9 points, 5.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 47 games.

The Lakers, who host the Golden State Warriors on Monday, also remain without forward LeBron James (groin) and point guard Rajon Rondo (finger).
