Jim Boylen is set to remain at the helm of the Chicago Bulls next season after the franchise’s vice president of basketball operations John Paxson insisted the head coach is "doing the right things".
Boylen was appointed by the Bulls in December after Fred Hoiberg was sacked with the team having made a 5-19 start to the season.
A near mutiny took place early in Boylen's tenure, as players protested the intensity of back-to-back practices and called a players-only meeting.
While off-court relations between coach and roster appear to have stabilised, Chicago have slumped to 12-42.
Despite their struggles, Paxson said on Thursday, as the Bulls unveiled new trade acquisition Otto Porter Jr, that they are "absolutely" are planning to bring Boylen back next season.
The trade, which went through the day before Thursday's deadline, saw Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker leave for the Washington Wizards.
