Five-time NBA All-Star Chris Webber named in 2019 Hall of Fame finalists

Former NBA All-Star Chris Webber has been named as one of the finalists for the 2019 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

This is the third consecutive year Webber has been a finalist in the Hall of Fame for his impressive career. He averaged 20.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 15 seasons with five teams.

Webber was also a member of University of Michigan's college basketball team known as a the "Michigan's Fab Five".

In total, 13 finalists where announced on Friday which also included former Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls player Ben Wallace.

In addition, this year's class will also have the winners of the John Bunn Lifetime Achievement Award, 1995 NBA coach of the year Del Harris and co-founder of the Portland Trail Blazers, Harry Glickman.

Ralph Lawler, voice of the Los Angeles Clippers for 40 years and sportswriter Marc Stein were also honoured as the Curt Gowdy Media Award winners.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2019 will be announced live on April 6 at the Final Four in Minneapolis.
