LaMarcus Aldridge produced a dominant display with 48 points and 13 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs to victory over the Boston Celtics on Sunday night.
Aldridge's points were the second-most of his career, following his 56 in a double-overtime win over the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this season.
The Celtics were unable to deal with the All-Star center's post play, as he used his wide range of offensive skills to score in a variety of ways.
Aldridge began fast, scoring 19 points in the opening period, the most for a San Antonio player in any quarter this year, as the Spurs led 31-24 after 12 minutes.
The 33-year-old ripped off 25 of his points in the first half on 11-of-17 shooting from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds in 18 minutes.
The Spurs snapped two-game losing streak to strengthen their position in eighth and final Western Conference playoff position, while the Celtics lost a fourth straight game to leave their hopes of home-court advantage in the postseason in peril.
