James Harden threw down a monster dunk en route to torching the Denver Nuggets for 38 points as the Houston Rockets eased to a one-sided win.
Harden hammered home his thunderous dunk with 26.6 seconds left to cap a late second-quarter surge that earned the Rockets an 18-point half-time lead.
His highlight play came after he had lofted an off-target three-point attempt over Paul Millsap from way behind the arc.
Harden's shot bounced left off the rim and straight into the hands of Rockets center Clint Capela.
As soon as Capela had possession, Harden raced into the lane calling for the ball. He received the pass and, with Millsap trailing in his wake, rose to the rim to slam home a left-handed jam.
In the third quarter, Harden scored 16 points to help the Rockets fend off one Denver run after another.
He tallied 11 consecutive points during one stretch in the period, with his two free throws with 54.7 seconds left stretching the lead to 85-65. There was to be no way back for the Nuggets after that.
