Jarrett Allen unleashed a thunderous dunk on Brook Lopez during the Brooklyn Nets' crucial victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night.
The 20-year-old center, who was a first-round pick in the 2017 NBA draft, was only given limited minutes to make an impact in Milwaukee as the Nets went for a smaller lineup to combat the Bucks three-point shooting prowess.
However, he made his presence felt in the 12 minutes he spent on the court, scoring 10 points to go along with seven rebounds as he made all four of his field goal attempts.
The pick of those was undoubtedly an early second-half dunk over former Nets center Lopez. Allen set a pick for D'Angelo Russell and rolled into the paint, where his point guard found him with an-inch perfect pass. With Lopez rotating to cover the basket, Allen didn't hesitate, rising high and pummelling the ball through the net.
A late Joe Harris three-pointer helped the Nets seal a 133-128 victory, which enhanced their playoff chances as they moved into sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Though they own the same record (40-40) as the seventh-place Orlando Magic, the Nets own the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Brooklyn also moved a half-game ahead of the eighth-place Detroit Pistons, against whom the Nets also own the head-to-head tiebreaker. The Nets also are 1.5 games ahead of the ninth-place Miami Heat, the team Brooklyn hosts in the regular-season finale on Wednesday, after visiting the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.
