Mike Budenholzer has been named the NBA Coach of the Year in his first season with the Milwaukee Bucks.
His Bucks finished with 60 wins, which was the best record in the league, and his peers got an up close look at his success.
That success has led to Budenholzer, 49, winning the National Basketball Coaches Association coach of the year, the association announced Saturday.

The award is voted on by all 30 NBA head coaches.
Budenholzer previously won the NBA Coach of the Year award, voted on by the media, in 2015 as coach of the Atlanta Hawks.
"It is an incredible honour to be recognised by your peers, and that makes this award truly special," Budenholzer said.
"Thank you to my colleagues across the NBA, and most importantly thank you to our players and staff in Milwaukee. The players' and staffs' work this year has given our team and our fans a very special season."
Kenny Atkinson (Brooklyn), Michael Malone (Denver), Nate McMillan (Indiana), Gregg Popovich (San Antonio), Doc Rivers (Los Angeles Clippers), Quin Snyder (Utah) and Terry Stotts (Portland) were the other vote-getters.
The Bucks open up the first round of the playoffs against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
