Joel Embiid recorded a dominant 31-point, 13-rebound double-double as the Philadelphia 76ers trounced the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Sixers rolled to an easy 149-107 win on the back of Embiid's league-leading 37th double-double of the season. It was the Sixers' center's 30th game with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds, also a league-best mark.
Embiid's 31-point haul came on 10-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. He hit seven of his eight free throws and also contributed three assists and a block.
Embiid had a superb first quarter, pouring in 13 points courtesy of a jump hook, a put-back tip-in and a three-point play from a fast-break finish as the Sixers race to a 40-27 lead.
The charismatic Cameroonian hit his first three-pointer at the start of the second quarter before leaving opposite number Karl-Anthony Towns flat-footed as he spun and drove to the rim for a dunk. He finished the half with 21 points.
With the game well in hand, Embiid's second-half output was limited to three more three-pointers and a free throw before he sat for good early in the final period.
