England v Jamaica: Six players to watch during the series against Jamaica
Friday 2 December 2016 12:24, UK
With the second Test taking place on Friday, we pick out the players to watch with a little help from the experts from England's international series against Jamaica.
Karen Greig, Manchester Thunder head coach
JAMAICA
Jhaniele Fowler in the shooting circle. She's been playing her netball out in New Zealand for the last few years and made a real name for herself.
She's not played for Jamaica for the last couple of years but they have gone back to her for this Test Series and she will be a big threat for them.
ENGLAND
Jade Clarke. She has made her name over the last 10 even 15 years and she is England's most capped player. She is still out there and she is still super fit, she's been at a couple of Thunder training sessions over the last few weeks and is looking really good.
She will be a key person in the middle and England try and control the game.
Tamsin Greenway, Wasps director of netball
JAMAICA
Vangelee Williams. She's going to be coming over for Bath. She's really athletic, she's really powerful and feisty. I'm going to be intrigued to see how she matches up. I think Jamaica's defensive structure, I want to see what they've actually pulled together because if they can get that structure working, they can be lethal with the likes of Jhaniele Fowler-Reid at the other end.
ENGLAND
Serena Guthrie. I personally think she's one of the world's best wing defences and I really hope England utilise her either as wing defensive centre and not push her into wing attack so I'll be intrigued to see where she plays over this series and I think that will make a big difference for England if they want to be successful.
Pamela Cookey, Severn Stars director of netball
JAMAICA
Shanice Beckford is dynamic, and accurate when shooting from further out in the circle. She's a great feeder so having Janelle Fowler as a target makes things nice for her.
ENGLAND
Jo Harten is awesome. She's grown into one of the leaders, she's vice-captain. She's at the shooting end and always helps to win games. Eboni Beckford-Chambers is also back in the squad and will be keen to put her best foot forwards, so keep an eye on her.
