Severn Stars surprised Manchester Thunder while Surrey Storm and Celtic Dragons sealed wins on Saturday in the Vitality Superleague.
Ahead of the game against top-of-the-table Thunder, Stars' head coach Sam Bird had said "any team on its day can take the win."
Stars - seventh in the league table - recorded their third consecutive victory by heading into the Belle Vue Sports Village in Manchester and coming away with a shock 50-47 win over Thunder.
Thunder had beaten Stars at the University of Worcester Arena 62-49 in February, and were looking to maintain a three-point lead over Wasps at the top of the league with the victory.
However, the loss allows Wasps the chance to tie it up when they play the Saracens Mavericks on Monday night.
Storm managed a close win at the Sports Park arena in Surrey, coming back from behind on multiple occasions to win 56-53 against the London Pulse.
Sigi Burger netted to put Storm ahead 54-53 in the late stages of the game, then scored the final goal to give them their second victory this week.
Dragons rebounded from a big defeat to Thunder last week by securing a 59-49 win over Strathclyde Sirens.
Playing in front of their biggest home crowd of the season, Dragons remained eighth the the league table with the win; tied on 15 points with Stars and three behind Storm.
The Vitality Superleague continues on Monday when Saracens Mavericks host Wasps.
