Hertfordshire Mavericks and Manchester Thunder remain deadlocked at the top of the Netball Superleague after both won on Saturday.

Mavericks defeated Surrey Storm 55-50 while Thunder beat Yorkshire Jets 49-44 to improve their standing to 18 points after seven games, three ahead of third-placed Team Bath.

At the Copperbox for London Live, the Mavericks withstood some early sharp-shooting from Storm's Rachel Dunn and Pamela Cookey to end the first quarter level at 10-10. Mavericks, with Sophie Hankin finding her range at the other end, soon opened a 20-27 half-time lead.

Yorkshire Jets came within minutes of getting their first win of the season on Saturday after a dramatically improved performance against Manchester Thunder.
