Manchester Thunder tightened their grip on the summit of the Netball Superleague with an 18-goal win against Team Bath on Saturday.

Dan Ryan's team were back to their fluid best in recording a 69-51 victory over fourth-placed Bath, leaving the head coach relieved.

"We were so desperate as a group to put in a performance we knew we were capable of as we have been very up and down with our form," he told the official website.

Hertfordshire Mavericks are three points behind leaders Thunder after recording a 64-40 win against Team Northumbria.

Mavericks, who have a game in hand compared to the league leaders, were always in control against Northumbria and had forged a 17-10 lead by the end of the first quarter.

With Linday Keable as player of the match, Mavericks were able to coast through the remainder of the fixture to leave Northumbria second-bottom of the Superleague.

Head coach Sam Bird told Mavericks' official website: "It was great to get back to playing in the Vitality NSL at home and I was delighted that the players demonstrated a solid understanding of the game plan, they supported each other on the court, and all 12 players showed their individual quality and ability to fit into the side and perform."
