Loughborough Lightning have bolstered their squad ahead of the forthcoming Vitality Superleague season with the signings of Ella Clark and Olivia Mason.
Loughborough kick off their season at home to Manchester Thunder on Saturday, February 18 with the welcome addition of former Hertfordshire Mavericks' star Clark and Mason, who is already a training partner in the Lightning squad so makes a seamless transition into the final 12.
Both players have joined the squad after Lauren Nicholls' and Brittany Coleman's season-ending injuries.
Lightning head coach Karen Atkinson is delighted to have two new additions to her squad under difficult circumstances.
"Liv has been working extremely hard during the pre-season phase," Atkinson told the official Loughborough website.
"She has embraced the opportunity to be a training partner and the fact that she can play across both the shooting circle and mid-court will be of real benefit to us this season. She thoroughly deserves this opportunity to step up into the squad of 12.
"I have fond memories of playing with Ella for Mavericks back in 2010 when she was a talented youngster. She is a professional athlete and a high calibre person with the experience needed to play at this level."
