Surrey Storm have signed South African shooting duo Charmaine Baard and Sigi Burger for the 2018 Superleague season.

Both players have experience at international level - Baard represented South Africa at the 2016 and 2017 Fast5 Championships while Burger is a member of the Proteas' programme for the Quad Series and Commonwealth Games.

Storm, who narrowly missed out on a spot in the top four last season, will begin the new campaign with a trip to defending champions Wasps on February 10, live on Sky Sports.

Being both Cape Town girls and having previously played together we will look to capitalise on their existing relationship to provide us with an attacking edge.

"I'm super excited to come play for Surrey Storm for the 2018 season," said Baard.

"I think it's going to be fantastic and we're going to have a ball of the time."

Director of netball Tania Hoffman has admitted her Storm side must make full use of the new additions to their attacking line-up.

Hoffman said: "Being both Cape Town girls and having previously played together we will look to capitalise on their existing relationship to provide us with an attacking edge."
