Sasha Corbin says consistency has been the reason behind Mavericks playing catch up in the race for the Superleague semi-final places.

Mavericks face the second game of a frantic final week when they travel to league leaders Wasps in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Monday night.

After surging into contention for a return to the play-offs after missing out last year, Mavs have lost their last three games, missing the chance to take advantage of Team Bath's own slip-ups.

Corbin and the Mavericks head to the Ricoh Arena knowing they need at least one win and it could be two if Bath turn Thunder over next weekend.

Bath in fourth have just one game remaining, Mavericks face Wasps on Monday and then finish the season at Sirens on Thursday - it's a situation that means their fate could be in their own hands, if they can return to winning ways.

"We are still working to find our flow but the great thing is we still have some time and still have the chance to for the top four - two wins could be enough to do it for us," Corbin told Sky Sports.

"It's been a bit difficult with players away at the Commonwealth Games as there isn't the chance for consistency of form but everyone was in the same position."

Defeat to Loughborough at the weekend means points difference could prove crucial and Corbin is hoping to use their impressive spells against a powerful Lightning team as inspiration.

It's a trait that Mavericks have shown through the season, and again at the weekend they were able to live with an impressive Lightning before fading in the closing stages of the crucial second and third quarters.

"There is always lots to learn but also so many positives we can take into the final two games," Corbin added.

"What we are looking for is consistency and against Lightning there were good passages of play but we were unable to push on.

"As a team that is what we are still learning, building and communicating with each other - that consistency for a full four quarters."
