Georgia Lees signs for Mavericks from Surrey Storm

Two-time Superleague champion Georgia Lees has penned a deal to sign with Mavericks.
Mid-court sensation Lees joins Mavs from Surrey Storm where she has been since 2010 rising up through their performance pathway and into the championship winning squad.
"I'm so excited for this new chapter in my life and netball career! Lots of challenges ahead but I'm looking forward to hitting the season hard," said Lees.
Head coach Kat Ratnapala has hailed Lees as "skilful, athletic and intelligent" and is pleased to add the experienced star to their squad ahead of the new Vitality Superleague season.
"Georgia is a player I've had the pleasure of working with before and with her move to the University of Hertfordshire I'm really pleased that she's decided to join our campaign this year. She is a skilful, athletic and intelligent player and I'm excited to get her involved in our combinations this year," said Ratnapala.
Meanwhile, Michelle Drayne has re-signed for her fifth Season with Mavericks. She was instrumental in the mid-court in both attacking and defensive roles for during last season.
Drayne first joined Mavericks in 2014 and is excited about the season ahead, saying: "I'm delighted to be returning to Mavericks for another year. I look forward to the challenges ahead and am excited by the return of George and Kadeen. I can't wait to get back on court."
Lees and Drayne join Gabby Marshall, Raz Quashie, Sasha Corbin, George Fisher, Kadeen Corbin and Lindsay Keable on the 2019 squad roster.
