Loughborough Lightning head coach Sara Bayman paid tribute to her team’s belief after their last-gasp win against Wasps Netball.

Lightning won 60-59 with a last-second winning goal, having lost by 30 to Wasps on the opening day of the Netball Superleague.

"It's pleasing that we can come from behind at three quarters, because teams have shown that is difficult to do," Bayman said.

"After three quarters I told the girls: three turnovers, we have to believe that we can do it."

Lightning now sit fourth in the table, with Wasps still on top.

"Trying to make the top four, this was a huge win and now we need to back it up," Bayman added. "We knew we needed to beat one of the top three and that's one of them ticked off the list."

"We were in control - but I guess you can never be in control against shooters like that because they have always got a quick goal [in them].

"Defensively we were brilliant [for three quarters]. We need to punish teams, be clinical, get our centre-pass to goal, and look after the ball. Those things didn't happen in the final quarter and we put ourselves under pressure."
