Former San Francisco 49ers linebacker TJ Slaughter has signed for the New England Patriots.
The 6ft, 230lb, 30-year-old did not play during the entire 2007 season, but still has seven years worth of experience under his belt.
Slaughter has played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints before and Super Bowl XLII runners-up the Patriots will be his sixth team.
He has made 358 tackles in 77 career games so far and recorded a career-high 12 special teams tackles in 10 games in 2006.
