Six of the best for Titans

The Tennessee Titans moved to 6-0 by crushing Kansas City while Wembley-bound New Orleans and San Diego both lost in week seven.

Bengals and Lions still left searching for first win as Saints lose Bush

The Tennessee Titans scalped the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium to remain the only unbeaten team after week seven of the season. While Jeff Fisher's troops go from strength-to-strength the wheels have come off for Dallas as the Cowboys lost again, this time to the improving Rams. Oakland caused an upset in overtime against the Jets while the Packers produced a fine all-round performance to stun the Colts at Lambeau Field. The Chicago Bears won a high-scoring thriller with the Minnesota Vikings but there was no such joy for Cincinnati and Detroit, who both remain winless. There was also major disappointment for San Diego and New Orleans, who lost Reggie Bush to injury, a week before they face off at Wembley.

Tennessee Titans 34-10 Kansas City Chiefs

Chris Johnson and LenDale White combined for 332 yards on the ground as the Titans stayed perfect by running all over the Kansas City Chiefs. The duo dominated at Arrowhead Stadium to help Tennessee improve to 6-0. In contrast the Chiefs are 1-5 and lost starting QB Brodie Croyle for the rest of the campaign with a serious knee injury. While the sizeable White rumbled for 149 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries, speedy rookie Johnson rushed for 168 yards and one score. Rob Bironas also kicked two field goals in the one-sided contest that saw the Chiefs shut out until the fourth quarter when Nick Novak's three-pointer was followed up by Tyler Thigpen's 14-yard run into the end zone.

Dallas Cowboys 14-34 St Louis Rams

The Rams deepened the mood of dispair for Dallas with a 34-14 victory at the Edward Jones Dome, their second win on the spin under interim head coach Jim Haslett. Stephen Jackson ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns while St Louis also scored through the air, quarterback Marc Bulger completing a 42-yarder to receiver Donnie Avery. Defeat for the Cowboys drops them to 4-3 for the season and the offence struggled without injured quarterback Tony Romo, who decided against risking his broken finger. Back-up Brad Johnson, 40, did throw a TD pass to Martellus Bennett but was also intercepted three times. The Cowboys' other touchdown came on a one-yard run from Marion Barber in the opening quarter.

Green Bay Packers 34-14 Indianapolis Colts

Ryan Grant rushed for his first touchdown of the season and Green Bay's defence returned two interceptions for touchdowns to help rout the Colts at Lambeau Field. Running back Grant ran for 96 yards on 30 carries in the win, while quarterback Aaron Rodgers was an efficient 21-of-28 for 186 yards with one touchdown thrown to Donald Lee. Indy quarterback Peyton Manning was picked off by Nick Collins and Aaron Rouse, who took his back all of 99 yards, for defensive scores in the second half. The Colts' two touchdowns were both close-range runs from tailback Dominic Rhodes who was filling in for injured starter Joseph Addai.

Buffalo Bills 23-14 San Diego Chargers

Buffalo moved to 3-0 after a bye week under current coach Dick Jauron as they dazzled after a 15-minute delay due to a power cut to topple the San Diego Chargers. Bills quarterback Trent Edwards returned from a concussion and completed 25-of-30 passes for 261 yards and a touchdown at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Marshawyn Lynch scored on a nine-yard run on the ground while kicker Rian Lindell knocked over three field goals, his last late in the fourth quarter sealing the result. The home team's defence also produced a stellar effort, forcing three turnovers after the game had been delayed when three helium balloons had got entangled across the street and caused a power outage.

Minnesota Vikings 41-48 Chicago Bears

Adrian Peterson once again ran all over Chicago but this time the Bears had the last word, hanging on at the death for a massive win over Minnesota. Running back Peterson ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns against the team he torched for 224 yards and three scores in his rookie season. However, while the Bears had trouble stopping him they had no such issues with Vikings quarterback Gus Frerotte, who they picked off four times. They also scored on two fumbles while a blocked punt led to a 17-yard TD return by Garrett Wolfe. Kyle Orton threw two touchdown passes and Matt Forte found the end zone on a one-yard run on offence for Chicago, who are now 4-3 for the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers 38-10 Cincinnati Bengals

Mewelde Moore proved an adequate replacement for the injured Willie Parker, rushing for 120 yards and two touchdowns in Pittsburgh's mauling of the winless Bengals. The Steelers moved to 5-1 for the year on the back of their stand-in's efforts which also included a two-yard pass for a TD from Ben Roethlisberger that broke the deadlock. Pittsburgh's quarterback also threw a 50-yarder to Nate Washington in the third quarter before making way for Byron Leftwich, who rounded out the scoring with a 16-yard strike to Hines Ward. The Bengals, the only 0-7 team in the NFL, managed a touchdown in the second quarter when Chad Johnson caught a five-yard throw from back-up quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was sacked seven times.

New York Giants 29-19 San Francisco 49ers

The Giants got back to winning ways on their return to home soil, Brandon Jacobs leading the way with two touchdowns against the error-strewn 49ers. The running back scored on 26 and two yards runs to help the reigning Super Bowl champions bounce back from their road loss to the Cleveland Browns. San Francisco managed 253 yards of offence but turned the ball over three times and allowed six sacks, one of which resulted in a safety when receiver Josh Morgan kicked the ball out of the end zone. They did manage to return a blocked field goal 74 yards thanks to Nate Clements but have now suffered four defeats on the spin.

Carolina Panthers 30-7 New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints endured a rough afternoon on the road a week before they play at Wembley, the Panthers offence tearing them apart in an all-NFC South battle. Jake Delhomme threw two touchdown scores in the third quarter for Carolina to blow the game wide open after the hosts had held a narrow 13-7 lead at half time. John Kasay also slotted over two field goals to help make it four straight victories in front of their own fans and erase the memory of their week six hammering at the hands of another divisional rival, Tampa Bay. To make matters worse for the Saints, whose only points came on a one-yard Mike Karney run, Reggie Bush left the game after injuring his left knee on a punt return. He will now not make the trip to London.

Cleveland Browns 11-14 Washington Redskins

Clinton Portis continued his fine season with 175 yards and a touchdown but it was Washington's defence that came up big to beat Cleveland. Running back Portis found the end zone for the seventh time this season, opening the scoring when he went in from three yards out midway through the third quarter after a pointless first half. The Redskins' other touchdown came thanks to some smart moves from Santana Moss as he spun past several tacklers to make it 14-3. Josh Cribbs' TD run was followed up by a successful two-point conversion but the Browns, who had dominated the Giants on home turf on Monday, were unable to level the scores when Phil Dawson missed a 54-yard field goal.

Baltimore Ravens 27-13 Miami Dolphins

Willis McGahee enjoyed a fabulous return home, rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' comprehensive victory over Miami. The running back made it into the end zone in the fourth quarter to cap a fine personal performance, while the Ravens defence also had a big day. They held the Dolphins to just 71 yards rushing and scored on an interception return, Terrell Suggs going 44 yards after picking off Chad Pennington.

Houston Texans 28-21 Detroit Lions

Detroit are still looking for their first win of the season after failing to recover from Houston's fast start at Reliant Stadium. The Texans exploded out of the blocks in the opening half, scoring through the air on Matt Schaub's two-yard throw to Owen Daniels before Ahman Green and Steve Slaton both reached the end zone on the ground from a yard out. At 21-0 the game looked over but the Lions came roaring back, Kevin Smith rushing for a 26-yard touchdown before Dan Orlovsky and Calvin Johnson connected for a 96-yard effort. In the final reckoning tight end Daniels' second TD catch of the game at the end of the third quarter proved the difference between the two teams and helped Houston make it six wins from their last seven on home soil.

New York Jets 13-16 Oakland Raiders

Sebastian Janikowski kicked a franchise-record 57-yard field goal in overtime as the Raiders stunned the Jets to give interim head coach Tom Cable his first win since taking charge. Oakland had looked to have sealed victory in regulation when Jay Feely's 52-yard attempt to make it 13 apience was off target. However, Cable had called a time out before the snap and the kicker made no mistake on his second attempt, forcing the game into extra time. Jamarcus Russell had thrown an 11-yard scoring pass to Javon Walker for the Raiders' only touchdown while the Jets' lone seven-pointer cam courtesy of an 11-yard run by Leon Washington.

Seattle Seahawks 10-20 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay remain on top in the NFC South after moving to 5-2 for the year by grinding out a victory over struggling Seattle on Sunday night. Jeff Garcia, starting in place of the injured Brian Griese, threw for 310 yards and a touchdown - his scoring pass being a 47-yarder to Antonio Bryant that broke the deadlock. Earnest Graham, relieved of full back duties for this week, followed up with a one-yard run in the second, though the offence only managed to add a pair of Matt Bryant field goals after that.
