Patriots tight end sits out for fourth straight day

Rob Gronkowski admits he is no nearer knowing if he will be fit to play for the New England Patriots in Sunday's Super Bowl XLVI. Gronkowski missed a fourth day's practice on Wednesday because of the high ankle sprain he suffered in the AFC Championship game win over Baltimore. Speaking before practice in Indianapolis, Gronkowski, who has stopped wearing an ankle boot, insisted his condition was improving but he was unable to predict his next move. "It's feeling way better than it was a week ago. It's feeling better than yesterday, so it's just making positive strides every single day," the tight end said. "Anything is possible. I could be practicing the next three days or I could be not practicing at all. Anything is possible." Gronkowski set an NFL single-season record with 17 touchdown receptions in the regular season and has become Tom Brady's favourite target.
