Three golds for Team GB on Thursday as Usain Bolt takes his Olympic Games tally to eight

Team GB moved on to 22 golds at the Olympic Games in Rio after three more titles were secured on a tremendous Thursday.

The dominant Brownlee brothers came home first and second in the men's triathlon to kick off the day's gold rush, with Alistair coming out on top to defend his London 2012 title - Jonny improved on his bronze four years ago by chasing him home.

Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark were already assured of sailing gold in the women's 470 class, being forced to wait 24 hours after races were called off on Wednesday because of light winds.

Alistair Brownlee retained his Olympic men's triathlon title to win Britain's 20th gold medal of the Rio Games, with brother Jonny claiming the silver

All they had to do was finish the medal race and they did so in eighth position to bring a successful end to the regatta for Great Britain.

The third gold medal of the day came later on when Jade Jones successfully defended her -57kg taekwondo title.

Jones beat Spain's Eva Calvo Gomez 16-7 in the final, to add to the gold medal she won at London 2012.

There was a silver medal to celebrate in the men's 200m kayak doubles thanks to a superb effort from Liam Heath and Jon Schofield.

Heath and Schofield stormed home to snatch second place from Lithuania near the line, with Spain taking gold.

And there was an historic bronze medal for Britain in the men's badminton doubles, where Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge won their medal play-off.

Usain Bolt wins the men's 200m to claim his second Rio 2016 gold, his eighth at an Olympics, and keep alive his hopes of an unprecedented 'treble treble'

Ellis and Langridge battled past highly-ranked Chinese pair Wei Hong and Biao Chai 21-18 19-21 21-10 to become Britain's first medallists in the competition.

There was no luck for Team GB's athletics squad, with captain Adam Gemili finishing fourth behind the incredible Usain Bolt in the final of the men's 200m.

Gemili was beaten by millimetres for bronze behind Bolt, who secured his eighth Olympic title and kept alive his hopes of a 'triple triple' which he can complete in the 4x100m relay final on Friday.

Charley Hull is two shots off the lead after two rounds of the women's golf competition and boxer Nicola Adams is in the final of the flyweight competition after beating old rival Ren Cancan on Thursday.
