Great Britain's men beat Italy 57-32 in their opening game at the European Wheelchair Championships in Israel Murray Treseder's men were never behind in a tight affair, and led 12-11 after a tense opening quarter. They doubled their advantage to two points by the break, going in 27-25, and enjoyed an excellent third quarter by the end of which they were 11 points in front at 46-35. Italy did fight back in the final quarter, but Britain did enough to hold on.
