Cristiano Ronaldo scoops Soccer AM's Golden Shoe and Golden Espadrille awards.
All season Soccer AM has been keeping tabs on the finest goal scoring machines across England and Europe in our Golden Shoe and Golden Espadrille competition. And after another superb season in which we saw two of the top Leagues in Europe go to the final day of the season, we're delighted to announce that Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has scooped both awards! The Golden Shoe took into account all the players in the top four tiers of the English game, while The Golden Espadrille focused on the top forwards from Italy's Serie A, Spain's Primera Division and of course our very own Premier League. Both competitions are based on a goals to games ratio and after hitting the back of the net an incredible 31 times in just 34 games the Portugal star was the deserved winner. Miss Helen Chamberlain jumped on the M4 last week and headed for Manchester United's Carrington training ground to present a clearly delighted Ronaldo with his awards and you can see his reaction by clicking on the video on the right. The Golden Shoe
