Briton Luol Deng netted 21 points and bagged 16 rebounds as the Chicago Bulls beat the Boston Celtics on Friday. The Bulls made it 11 wins from 13 games as they continued their impressive start to the NBA season with an 88-79 victory. As well as Deng's efforts, Derrick Rose scored 25 points for the Illinois side. The Philadelphia 76ers remain in charge of the Atlantic Division thanks to a 120-89 win over the hapless Washington Wizards. The Sixers are now 8-3 for the season. Jodie Meeks' 26 points topped the scoring charts. Southwest leaders the San Antonio Spurs were comfortable 99-83 victors over Portland Trail Blazers. Tony Parker was top-scorer with 20 - nine fewer than LaMarcus Aldridge managed for the losing side. Kobe Bryant landed a 42-point haul as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 97-92 to stay in charge of the Pacific Division, but Southeast pace-setters the Miami Heat lost 117-104 to the Denver Nuggets.

Kevin Love starred with 34 points and 15 rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the New Orleans Hornets 87-80, while the Dallas Mavericks routed the Milwaukee Bucks 102-76. Luis Scola, Samuel Dalembert and Kyle Lowry all passed 20 points as the Houston Rockets proved too good for the Sacramento Kings, posting a 103-89 success. In other games, the New Jersey Nets beat Phoenix Suns 110-103, the Detroit Piston were 98-81 winners over Charlotte Bobcats and the Indiana Pacers edged a 95-90 win over the Toronto Raptors.
